Chris Grundner - Kelly Heinz-Grundner Foundation

Chris Grundner was a happily married very successful businessman living the life of his dreams with his wife and best friend until she was diagnosed with a brain tumor that took her life at the young age of 31. Not all would have had the strength to choose the path that Chris did. Here are some facts* about brain tumors that everyone should know:

1. Every day an estimated 482 people are diagnosed with a brain tumor - that's about 20 every hour!

2. There are over 120 different types of brain tumors, making accurate and efficient treatment complicated.

3. Some brain tumors cannot be detected by a blood test which makes an MRI or CT Scan the only efficient diagnosis tools.

4. Brain tumors do not discriminate against age, gender, ethnicity, overall fitness or socioeconomic status - everyone is a potential candidate.

5. Brain tumor symptoms may include seizures, chronic headaches, dizziness, nausea or impaired faculties including: - Vision, taste, smell, hearing or touch - Memory - Cognitive skills - Physical function and coordination

6. Brain tumors are the 2nd leading cause of cancer-related deaths in children under the age of 20.
