In the 1980's the school district closed the neighborhood school and let it go into disrepair. Now used as an interim school only, leaving it vacant much of the time, the district doesn't have the resources to keep up the grounds, especially the playground. So what do you do when the only open space within walking distance for your community is now a target for drugs and unsavory activity?
