As a mom and wife going about her life, when she found out a homeless man was living behind the wall at the back of her house she didn't give it much thought. Her neighbor had called the police and that was that. But four months later she realized the man was still there. This auspicious beginning was how she got involved and founded an organization to mobilize and connect businesses and homeowners to work with the police and the city to effect change.
